When I sought the honor to serve fellow citizens in Daleville, I was asked what promises I was making. I made three.
First, I would maintain transparency and stay in touch so that we can each stay informed. This also allows feedback to be solicited. I am keeping this promise by sharing information on this site and on social media and by holding quarterly town hall style meetings. The next town hall style meeting will be on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 3 pm at Happy Monday Restaurant - 192 Fannie Morris Deive in Daleville. The town hall style meeting has grown and evolved over time. The next town hall meeting will be the fifteenth one and the Community Town Hall is now hosted by the Daleville Area Chamber of Commerce which makes them a forum comfortable for all elected servants of the city as well as department Heads. We are very thankful that the town hall style meetings we have held over the last few years have grown and have now evolved into what it is today! Secondly, I promised I would donate my city council salary each month. The recap of these donations can be found below. I post photos of the council salary check and donation check each month on the news section of this website in an effort of transparency and accountability. Last, but not least, I gave my word that I would serve you to the best of my ability. It is truly an honor to be able to serve you and I am giving it my all. I began this process before even being sworn into office by actively taking courses provided by the Alabama League of Municipalities to learn how I can best serve you and to do so in a lawful manner. All of the courses taken prior to entering office were paid for out of my own pocket in an effort to save taxpayer dollars. I was excited to have earned the Certified Municipal Officer designation on November 3, 2021 … less than one year serving in office. I am now working on earning the Advanced Certified Municipal Officer designation.
